Rosh Roslin

Guitar teacher

Rosh Roslin "Teaching is the only way music, in my opinion, has survived in the past. If you look throughout history from Bach all the way until the present, music has been passed on from generation to generation. I've had so many great teachers in my life and I feel it's a great honor to be part of a long lineage of people passing my experiences along to the next generation."

"For me, a program such as Join The Band, is something I was always missing when I first picked up the guitar. I never took lessons early on and remained self taught because I just wanted to play in a band, make great music and have fun. Having both lessons, joining a band and having a performance all in one package would have kick started my playing a lot sooner."

"Every musical solution is found on record somewhere" - Unknown

This tidbit of advice, filtered through countless years of dedication, work and practice has been the cornerstone of Rosh Roslin's musical life. Originally hailing from San Diego, Rosh was bit by the guitar bug in his early teens. Spending hours lifting licks and learning songs from rockers such as Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page to jazz and fusion idols such as Pat Metheny and Al di Meola further shaped his eclectic ever-changing style. Stints in local bands ranging from blues, to funk to hard rock only fueled a greater passion to study music at the professional level which would eventually send him to Hollywood's Musician's Institute, to study with heroes such as Brett Garsed and Scott Henderson as well as following in the footsteps of notable MI alum such as Paul Gilbert and Frank Gambale. His tireless dedication to music turned heads of staff and students alike earning him "Outstanding Student" in 2004 and a Bachelor's Degree in Music.

Now, after recording with Grammy Award winning producer/engineer JJ Blair, sharing the stage with Grammy nominee, Howard McCrary, and serving as a Musical Director for a worldwide charity concert as some of the notable work on his resume, Rosh teaches to hopefully inspire and cultivate in his students the same magic spark that turned him from 14-year old garage rocker to professional musician.
