David Filice
Bass teacher and Band Leader
Teaching Philosophy: I love to teach music. I will never forget the excitement I used to feel when I would take a music lessons and I love to pass that on. In teaching I like to cover the whole spectrum of musicality. Not just show someone how to play scales. I try to share with them my years of experience as a professional and show them the artistry behind playing an instrument. Not just the technicality. With my students I cover everything from hand technique, ear training, theory, listening skills, songwriting, both skills of how to make and follow charts, reading, and how to have fun and grow with their instrument.
Education: Degree in Audio Engineering, Private Theory and Ear training Instruction with Marc Harrison (Harrison School of Music)
Professional Experience: A native of Northern California, I now live in LA and work in the music industry as a bassist and producer. I am the current touring bassist for multi-platinum act "The Rembrandts". In music education I served as the Head of the Bass Department and on the Director Advisors Board at The MGray Music Academy founded by Grammy winner Macy Gray and am the co-founder and director of the music program at "My Friends Place", which is a non-profit homeless youth shelter in Hollywood. Prior to touring I co-owned and operated "Strings Brothers Productions" composing, engineering, and producing music for movies, documentaries, and commercials.
