Ear Plugs
We request that all Band Members and guests wear earplugs. You will be in an environment with loud music. You risk permanent damage to your ears if you choose not to wear earplugs and “Join the Band LLC” is not liable in any way if you choose not to protect your ears
Tips To Maximize Your Join the Band Experience
- BUY EAR PLUGS AND USE THEM! We highly recommend that everyone wear earplugs. You can buy them at any music store. Professional earplugs designed for music are worth the investment (we can recommend an audiologist.) We try to keep the music levels at a moderate level; however, it is not uncommon for sound levels to get very loud. PROTECT YOUR EARS. Once they are damaged you can't fix them. It is your choice if you decide not wear ear plugs.
- When you arrive at the studio please wait outside the door until the current band is finished. We like to keep the sessions private. If you wish to "sit in" and listen, please talk to the teacher before the class starts.
- Be on time. It is best to show up 15 minutes early so your band can start on time. Use this time to get in tune and start warming up.
- PUT YOUR MUSIC IN A BINDER! We have binders available in the studio for a small charge. This is the best way to keep your music organized. Flipping through unorganized pages and picking them up off the floor when they fall off (and they will) the music stand is a waste of rehearsal time.
- We do not bring music stands to the concerts. The best remedy is to MEMORIZE YOUR MUSIC.
- If you lose your music there is a $5 charge per chart to reprint your music.
- Practice your parts at home. You will get instruction at the rehearsals but the rehearsals are not private music lessons. It's not fair to the other band members if you are not prepared. If you need help with your parts, seek out a private teacher for a couple of music lessons. We can recommend teachers to you.
- PROMOTE YOUR CONCERT! Tell everyone about your show and patronize the venue where we are performing. If the club doesn't make any money they won't want us (you) back. The club has expenses to cover. Electricity, bartenders, waiters, cooks, sound men, etc...do not work for free. Show your appreciation to the club for hosting our concert. Without them you wouldn't have a gig.
- HAVE FUN!
